Huling Pagpupugay for Vanguard Leonard Serafica ’70
28 October 2024 – Vanguards paid tribute to Vanguard Leonard Serafica ’70 at the Sanctuario San Vicente de Paul, Quezon City.
Vgd. Doc Jan Villamayor ’81 shared that he first met Brod Leonard from COCC days. As he shared his memories, he enjoined everyone remember Brod Leonard on the good things he has done and his love for the Vanguard, rainbow rangers and his family.
Vgd. Fil Buena ’71 shared memories of his conversations and adventures with Brod Leonard, noting his passion, courage and values.
Vgd. Gil Aganon ’64 narrated how his relationship with Vgd. Leonard evolved from being his ranger cadre to EDSA days and their ideals towards “Serafica’s Maharlika” vision for the youth and the nation.
Vgd. Erwin Fernandez ’70 talked about Brod Leonard’s being 1) brilliant (in life and in chess), 2) unconventional (since his college days) 3) stubborn but admirable.
Brod Leonard’s son Jesu gave the response of the family. He described his father as a charmer and someone who likes to tease, qualities that his brothers also have . He also shared how he was inspired by his dad’s love of reading and standards for excellence.
