National Health Security is Everybody’s Business: A Consultation for Prescription
The U.P. Vanguard, Inc. (UPVI) is a non-stock, non-profit organization which is the alumni organization of graduates of the UP Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Advance Courses. Since its founding as an organization in 1922, it has had a long fruitful history of partnership in nation building, contributing both to the national and university causes. It has produced some of the top individuals in the military, government, and the private sector.
As part of its nation-building efforts, the UPVI is organizing a series of webinars that aims to stimulate discussions and ideas towards policy reform and action.
For its initial offering, UPVI will focus on our National Health Care Security. In this time of pandemic, it is the most pressing issue. The UPVI will bridge the gap among various sectors by having industry leaders address the different aspects of healthcare security. It will include topics on governance, health resources, facilities & service delivery, access & financing, and the use of information & communications technology.
Invited speakers are former Department of Health secretaries, local chief executives, and industry & community leaders. The forum will be divided into two parts: 1) panel discussion with Dr. Esperanza Cabral, Dr. Manuel Dayrit, and Rep. Janette Garin; 2) reactors’ forum of the industry leaders composed of: Mayor Abby Binay | Makati City, Ms. Girlie Garcia-Lorenzo | @PAPO, Dr. Enrico Ragaza | Past President of the Philippine College of Surgeons, and Dr. Butch Ong | Fellow, UP OCTA.
It will be on 24 February 2021 via Zoom Webinar and will be moderated by the UPVI Makati Chapter Commander, Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go.
