96th UP Vanguard Annual Convention and Homecoming
The highlight of this year’s homecoming is the unveiling of the Shibboleth Wall, the physical manifestation of Duty, Honor, and Country. This is our way of recommitting ourselves to our Alma Mater, the UP Reserve Officers Training Corps, and to our beloved UP Vanguard Inc.
The UPVI 96th Homecoming is also a time for Vanguards to remember their fallen brods, honor the Hall-of-Fame, Oblation, and Achievement Awardees, and salute the Diamond, Golden, Ruby and Silver Jubilarian Classes of 1958, 1968, 1978 and 1993, respectively. As brods, let us draw inspiration and strength from one another, renew our fraternal bonds, and recommit ourselves to our dear Alma Mater, the UP Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.
The socialized fees are in acknowledgement of the financial status of our newly recognized brods as well as those that have recently graduated. However, may we request that brods who are capable of paying the full fees do so, in consideration of the UPVI Secretariat’s continuing service to us.
Below are the expected fees:
Convention and Homecoming Fee 1,000.00
Guest 1,000.00
UPVI Annual Membership Dues
Class 1978 and earlier 500.00 (full if able)
Class 1979-2008 1,000.00
Class 2009-2013 500.00 (full if able)
Class 2014-2018 Waived, but encouraged
Lifetime Membership Fee 15,000.00
May we also invite the brods to participate in the restoration and enhancement of the Eternal Flame. The planned restoration and enhancement will include the erection of the Shibboleth Wall that will physically manifest every Vanguard’s commitment and unwavering loyalty to the UP Vanguard and the Corps of Cadets. Together with the Eternal Flame, the Shibboleth Wall will serve as a marker to the University, the UP Vanguard, and the UP DMST as it will serve as a beacon that brings together its notable history, its relevance at present times, and an inspiration for future leaders.
To construct the wall and restore the eternal flame, we are inviting Brods to donate at least Php9,000 to the UPVI. As a donor, you will have the privilege of embedding your name on the donors’ wall (www.facebook.com/Shibbolethwall/). Attached a brief and the donation form.
