Dear Brods,The PAROL…  has always been a part of every Filipino family as it welcomes the Yuletide Season.  It’s something one hangs proudly in the most prominent place of his home.  It’s a unique Pinoy way of symbolizing the shining star that once guided the Three Magi to the newborn Savior.On December 17, Saturday 1100H at the Doña Jovita Garden Resort at Km. 57 National Highway, Bagong Kalsada, Calamba City, Laguna, one parol will stand proudly for every UP ROTC Class beginning from 1912 up to 2012. We call on all Brods to attend, be counted and represent their class as we gather and celebrate our Annual Christmas Party and December Birthday Fellowship.  ALL CLASS MUST BE REPRESENTED!!!…. and di-aatend sa Pa-ROLL CALL…lagot sa PaROLL-OUT…  : )

To bring in the Holiday atmosphere, brods are assigned to wear the following colors to represent the decade they graduated from the Corps:

1940   to 1959 – White
1960   to 1969 – Green
1970   to 1979 – Blue
1980   to 1989 – Red
1990   to 1999 – Orange
2000   to 2012 – Yellow

Be prepared with a presentation from your Chapter or ROTC unit for a showdown of who’s the most talented!  And what’s Christmas without presents?  Bring a gift worth at least PhP300.00 for the exchange gift among brods.  And yes, we’ll also have parlor games.

Our gathering is graciously hosted by Vgd. Other sponsors, as usual, are our celebrants.  But a donation of PhP500 PER CLASS will be appreciated to be used to purchase the parols and for the Fellowship Committee Revolving Fund.

So Brods, mark your calendar for the last Vanguard activity of the year.  Bring along your family. But don’t forget to CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE on or before 09 December by emailing upvi1922_secretariat@yahoo.com; calling up the Secretariat at 920-6881 or 89; or texting 0917-3874778 (Malou ’87) or 0917-3362292 (Ana).  It’s IMPORTANT that we get the name and age of your guest/s.

There will be carpooling at the Diliman UPDMST for Manila-based brods.  Assembly is at 0800H and ETD is at 0830H.  Brods without a ride should also inform the Secretariat on before 09 December so we can make arrangements.
